"I know the Lord is always with me. He is helping me.
God's mighty power supports me."

In the Grip of Grief

When death comes and takes our precious children away...
Leaving behind painful emptiness and dismay.
Those countless hurting hearts in the grip of grief...
Now search desperately for comfort and relief.
For life as we knew it is now torn asunder...
Shattered hopes and dreams leave us in shock to wonder,
This can't be happening it's too cruel and unfair...
How can I go on in such torment and despair?
The child I once carried in my arms and loved so much...
I will never hold again or feel their loving touch.
How can they be gone, when their life had just begun...
So much to look forward to so much to be done.
As gut wrenching pain threatens to overwhelm me...
Suffocating in darkness I fight to be free.
Praying help is there and no sorrow's too great...
That the Savior's healing Light won't penetrate,
Even the darkest chambers of our broken heart...
For God shares our suffering when we are torn apart.
So cry out to Him and He will help you release...
The heavy burden you bear so you can find peace.
For it is through the Savior we find comfort and relief...
As He ministers to hurting hearts in the grip of grief.
"...The Lord will be your everlasting light,
and your days of sorrow will end."
Isaiah 60:20 NIV
